Built from the late 1870s for the Wodeyars, the Bangalore Palace was inspired by Windsor Castle, with battlements, turrets and Tudor arches. It is still owned by the royal family. Parts of the interior, including the durbar hall, hunting trophies and old photographs, are open to visitors with an audio guide.

The grounds are a major venue for concerts and exhibitions.
