Namma Metro, run by BMRCL, is the fastest way to cross the city at peak hours. The main lines are:
- Purple Line: east–west, from Whitefield (Kadugodi) through MG Road and Majestic to Challaghatta
- Green Line: north–south, from Madavara through Yeshwantpur, Majestic and Jayanagar to Silk Institute
- Yellow Line: from RV Road to Bommasandra via Electronic City
More lines, including the Pink Line and the Blue Line to the airport, are under construction. Opening dates have often slipped, so check the BMRCL website for what is running now.
Tips
- Nadaprabhu Kempegowda station (Majestic) is the main Purple–Green interchange and is very crowded at peak times.
- QR tickets through the official Namma Metro app or WhatsApp, and the NCMC/smart card, save time at the counters.
- The first coach of each train is usually reserved for women.
